The Toronto Bills?
Our thanks to Leo Roth of the Democrat Chronicle for this one.
It’s not a stretch to say the Buffalo Bills have been irrelevant since the days of Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas. I mean if you really think about it, the only people talking about them are fantasy GM’s trying to decide how early Marshawn Lynch should go in their upcoming drafts.
But fear not Buffalo fans, because Jim Kelly’s back!
That’s right; the man who led your team to one heartbreak after another’s coming back with a plan to save the franchise. And to top it off, he’s bringing some old friends with him too.
Kelly, along with Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Steve Tasker and Steve Christie are all back in the fold. Now of course we’re not talking about a return to action, but rather an endorsement of where set action should take place.
For anyone who hasn’t heard, Kelly recently pitched an idea to build a new stadium for the Bills in Niagara Falls.
I won’t lie here, but my first impression of the idea was somewhere between ironic and hilarious.
Once I finished laughing and gave the idea a moment to sink in, it actually started to make sense, because a stadium on the American side could appeal to fans in Toronto, Buffalo and Rochester.
Buffalo’s already playing five regular season games in Toronto over the next five years. Even though the number might seem futile and insignificant, think about the impact they could have in the grand scheme of things.
Who’s to say the Bills won’t move to Toronto if those five “insignificant” games turn into financial successes?
If you ask me, a stadium on the stateside of Niagara Falls has to be considered, especially if the alternative’s an outright move to Canada.
I’d love to know what the Bills faithful think about this, because losing your franchise to Canada would really be…well, embarrassing.

Oh, you are speaking my language!
Speaking on behalf of Bills Nation, Born and raised in Niagara Falls, I can honestly tell you that a brand shiny new Bills Stadium in mid-town Niagara Falls is without question the best thing for the region as a whole.
It revitalizes a broken part of the universe (Niagara Falls is an eyesore), draws from Rochester, Southern Ontario and Buffalo, and keeps the Bills no farther from my house than they are now.
Ok, so that last item was a bit selfish.
